The food

  • Halved blue crabs on a black platter, shells brushed with butter and flecked with herbs and Cajun seasoning, served with a charred lemon half and a tin of dipping sauce.
  • Oysters on the half shell in a speckled stone bowl, grilled under butter until the edges brown, scattered with dill and served with a charred lemon half.
  • Six seared scallops arranged on a pale ribbed plate under a creamy pepper sauce, topped with dressed salad leaves and crisp fried shallots.
